San Miguel de Salinas is located about 10 kilometers from Orihuela
Costa's coastline. This charming community has many residents,

The Municipality of San Miguel de Salinas
San Miguel de Salinas is located in the south of the Alicante
Province, between the cities of Torrevieja and Murcia. The municipality
is situated on a hill (75m above sea level) which offers panoramic
views from many places over the salt lakes of La Mata and Torrevieja.
Like many destinations on the Costa Blanca, many Western and Northern
Europeans also stay there.
But, unlike many other cities and towns, San Miguel de Salinas
still has a very traditionally Spanish atmosphere.
Since San Miguel de Salinas is located inland, this municipality
does not have a beach. But the popular sandy beaches of Orihuela
Costa are only a few minutes drive away.
The fact that San Miguel de Salinas is located inland has its
charms. North of the municipality you look out over the salt lakes.
South of the municipality an extensive view over lemon and orange
trees.
In the center there are several bars, restaurants, supermarket
and numerous Spanish shops. During the summer months you often

San Miguel de Salinas Market
This local market in San Miguel is every Wednesday and has about
165 stalls. Here you can buy many different products such as fresh
fruit at prices cheaper than the supermarket and general household
items such as decorative and household items.
Characteristic of San Miguel de Salinas are the cave houses (Las
Cuevas), where there is even a delicious restaurant.
By the way, they can also throw a party in San Miguel de Salinas.
There are several events every year, such as the music festival
"Fiesta de Santa Cecilia" in November.
